Auburn University Breaks Ground On New Air Traffic Control Tower

Auburn University held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, September 12 for its new air traffic control tower at the airport.

Joined by officials from the cities of Auburn and Opelika, the University broke ground on the 109 foot tower that will be complete with a 360 degree observation deck.

The $7.2 million project is said to enhance safety measures and operational efficiency at the Auburn University Regional Airport while helping alleviate air traffic congestion.
