UAB opened the new facility with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, inviting Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Ingram, University President Ray Watts, head men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy, head women’s basketball coach Randy Norton, and Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer & Secretary of Medical Properties Trust, Inc. Emmett McLean to the podium to speak about the completed project.
The new facility features two full-sized basketball courts, player lounges and film rooms for both teams, and offices for both coaching staffs.
